Sex des Granges - Meteo Rire
Approach 10min Take the path towards “col de la Matze” (painted ) or “Sex des Granges” (tourist footpath signpost,) which starts just above the bus stop. Follow this for about 100m. At the level of the foot of the cliff, traverse across to it. The start, (name) of the route is marked in blue.
Route **2h30-3h **L1 5b 32 m 12 pts Sustained and technical L2 5c 28 m 11 pts Start up a crack, then more or less to the right of the crest of the spur. L3 6a ou 5c/A0 26 m 10 pts Go up towards the left. L4 5b 30 m 10 pts Up the spur, then a wall with plenty of holds. L5 5c 22 m 7 pts Spur than a slight overhang. Keep to the crest. L6 4 25 m 5 pts Alternate between short traverse to the left and vertical passages. Keep to the rock. L7 5a 35 m 9 pts At the top of the initial corner , the route trends to the right, passing under a magnificent pine tree.
Descent 15min On foot, Follow the markings which lead to a path then the foot of the route. The descent faces N so it is best to wait until the snow has gone. Good shoes essential, as it steep.
• Belay Points : 2 bolts, not linked.
• Abseilling not feasible. There is too great a risk of the rope jamming. Also the belay point and route cleaning are not foreseen for abseiling.
• Good shoes for the descent, the path is steep though not very exposed.
