Refuge de Tré la Tête

Pedestrian access

From the parking at Cugnon, (on the left, 1km beyond the centre of Contamines,) go up the narrow road at the left hand end of the parking for 100 or so metres to the start of the forest track. After a short distance there is a junction with both options signposted to the refuge. The right hand one (les Plans) is quicker, (steeper). The two paths join higher up for the middle section before splitting a second time. Again the right hand option is shorter. 2h from the parking.

Details

A spacious, comfortable hut, (65 places) with a dormitory and bedrooms. Half pension is the only option, (i.e. no bed only.) Ideally situated for hiking, rock climbing, (multi pitch, graded F4 to F7 within 15-30 mins of the hut,) as well as alpine climbing above the Tré la Tête basin. Also a great place just to chill out and eat “myrtille” pie. Popular at lunchtimes.
