## Approach

From Savolaire, follow the path which passes by the avalanche defences, pass by the Pierre Avoi to the S and descend the steep gully to the foot of the route; marked with red paint.

<p>Selon la commune de Saxon, Avoi vient du patois «&#160;avouè&#160;» qui signifie «&#160;aigu&#160;». Par la suite, certains cartographes auraient repris le nom en y ajoutant un «&#160;R&#160;» afin de devenir «&#160;Pierre à voir&#160;», erreur qui perdure encore sur certaines cartes.
