Notre-Dame de la Gorge - Panneau d'initiation

Artificial icefall, set up beside the Bon Nant stream by the Contamine Guides. Before climbing here it is necessary to reserve at the BUREAU DES GUIDES DES CONTAMINES (tel. 04 50 47 10 08). The guides have priority to use this icefall with their clients. So as not to cause problems, please inform before climbing.

Approach # 1min

Park at the end of the road near the Notre-Dame de La Gorge. The cascade is less than a minute up the valley, little footbridge. To reach the top of the icefall, cross the river on the track leading to the romanm road. Go up this for 50-100m to where the wooden fencing and plastic piping is visible. The belays are set up at the end of steel cables.

Several lines possible, about 20m high, all about 3 to 4+.
