Approach # 40min

Leave Valnontey to the SW on the path leading to the Vittorio Sella hut and which passes in front of the “Jardin Botanique”. After about 40mins you come to 2 icefalls. The left hand one with yellow ice and a nice column for the first pitch is Ingegneria (4). The one one the right with lots of water flowing, rarely frozen, is Lauson

Route

L# | Several options for the first pitch. On the left is the classic line at 3, up the middle is steeper at 4+ and to the right, starting at the lowest point, gives a 60m pitch of 4. The left and middle lines share a bolt belay. The right hand line has a separate belay on the right. L# | Easier. Reach the top by overcoming several bulges (60°-70°). Bolt belay about 10m higher up the snow slope.

Descent

Either abseil or go up the snow slope to join the path descending from the VIttorio Sella hut, which leads back to Valnontey.
