Details

A pleasant route that is very well bolted. Short pitches with mostly good stances.

Approach # 20 mins

From the Ardech parking take the path upwards for about 50m to a signpost indicating the SE Quiquillion cliff. Follow the path horizontally for about 15 mins which arrives some 30m below the cliff. Spot a pillar leaning against the face, with about 50m from the base a netting of cables securing some loose rocks. Scramble up to the base of the cliff. Brazil starts about 10m to the right of the pillar, the name being written in blue paint and has a common start with “Infinitésimal”. (To the left of “Lotus”)

Route

P1 5a Directly up the wall. P2 5b Continue up the wall, with several metres of “real” 5b P3 5a You arrive at some ledges which traverse upwards to the right to reach a belay at the foot of a corner. P4 5a The corner then traverse diagonally rightwards. P5 5a Continue ascending rightwards, passing a metre above a ledge ascending to the right to reach a belay beneath the rightmost line of bolts. P6 5b Follow this line of bolts. P7 5c Easy steps then 15m of 5c or A0/5b. NB. there are two lines of bolts at the difficult section, the left hand line being easier. P8 5c A very short athletic section leading to a belay on the ridge. Alternatively traverse leftwards, then go up to the ridge, (5a)

Descent

Walk along the narrow ridge to the right, (back to the cliff,) some cables. The path passes onto the left side of the ridge and descends a short wall, metal rungs. Follow the path on the right to a col, which you pass through to regain the SE side. Go down the good path to the Ardech parking. There are several junctions, always take the descending option.

Can be very popular.
