Pierre Taillée - Falaise principale - Là bas si j'y suis

Approach:

Look at the site Pierre Taille. (Click on link above, also for topo diagram, in French.) From the roadside parking (several hundred metres beyond Sales, footpath signposts,) go up the forestry track for circa five minutes until a path on the right with red and yellow markings. This path snakes up the hillside until a final steep section leads to the crag at the bottom of the route. Name written on the rock.

Route :

Four pitches with a total of 120m approx. : 5a, 5c, 5b, 3
Possible to do a 6a alternative last pitch.

Descent : Either: continue upwards, then traverse to the right, looking upwards, to reach a little gully with a cable and abseil point. 2 abseils of 35m, best with 2×50 m ropes or: Three abseils down the route with 2×50 m ropes, not recommended if busy.

Faces SW, at a low altitude so a pleasant climate. No climbing during the hunting season Sept to Jan. A good and variable route with slabs, flakes, a crack and a rock column. Belays are 2 bolts with chains.
