Schneealpe - Rax traverse

Neuberg (720m) - Schneealm (1903m)

Take the path (445) before the Holzer gasthaus, until your reach the big plateau just below the summit of Schneealm (around 1731m), close to the Milchlbauerhuette and take any of the path up the Windberg summit

Schneealm (1903m) - Nasskamm (1210m)

From the summit, head down the NW path, then cross the fields to the NW until you reach the track. Follow the track until the Lurgbauerhuette (1764m), then go down on the path to the N, then W along the Nasskamm.

Nasskamm (1210m) - Rax (2007m)

Continue along the Nasskamm W then S, up past the Zimmermannhuette to the little pass (1495m) (signpost) From there, either turn W and climb (II, unsecured) straight up to Gamseck (1857m), or continue SW along the marked path, and take the Gamsecksteig (easy climb, I-II, secured with cables/ladders) to the summit plateau (1849m). From the summit plateau, walk along the grass ridge to the top.

Descent

From the summit of Rax (Heukuppe, 2007m), head down to Karl-Ludwig-Haus (1804m), and take one of the many ways down to the bus stops either at Preiner Gsheid (1070m) or Prein (680m)
