S Face

From Col de l’Encrenaz (1433m) or Col de Bonnavaz (1187m) follow the road until the Foron chalets (1355m) then to start to climb towards Chalune, primarily on the left bank of the dale (E side). Go diagonally where possible towards Les Reys in the direction of the S face of Roc d’Enfer where you aim at the principal summit (on the right of the S face). By more or less steep but still rather unrelenting slopes, you come under the notch just to the W of the summit (on the left). Go up these last slopes which become quite steep and exposed. Arriving at the summit after the notch is very difficult with sections in very steep snow or mixed climbing via the summit ridge. In both cases, the exposure is very great.
