Way up

From Bonnenuit (1760 m)

Take the path on the right, near La Valloirette. Cross the bridge at 1758 m to enter the Vallon Mortavieille. Go up the valley on the left bank. Go under the ruins of the Lauzette and cross the Plan of Paradise to reach the Vallon du Fond.

From Plan Lachat (1987 m)

Go up towards Les Granges du Galibier and continue towards the W until Colomban Noir (2405 m). Cross the road and go down towards the Ruisseau de la Fontaine Lombarde (2297 m). Go back through the Gypsières (it is a real labyrinth!) Passing to the S point 2308 m. Go down towards the Vallon du Fond leaving on your left the Vallon de l’Anesse (which gives access to the Pic Blanc).

You can also arrive at the Charrat pass from the Goléon hut.

Go up the Vallon du Fond. Around 2900 m, 2 possibilities:

NE Facet #4.1 / E1

Easiest way, preferable at the beginning and end of the season: bypass the rocky “shield” on the right, and climb the NE facet straightening at 45 ° under the summit. You can also leave the skis on the shoulder N around 3050 m to finish on foot by the NE side or the N edge. The descent from the shoulder is limited to 3.2.

NE Face of the antecime E #4.2 / E2

Requires good snow conditions. Join a mid-left narrowing of the rocky “shield”. Then, walk up 150 m downhill at 40-45 °, with a short, steeper path in the middle. There are rocks and it is relatively exposed (risk of percussion). Lead to the antecime E, from which the summit is reached on foot by a short but aerial E-ridge.

Descent

By the same route.

Walk

From Colomban Noir, go down the valley and join the valley bottom. Then go up this combe to join a neck to the N of the peak. Follow the ridge where you sometimes use your hands to the top.
