A little gem of a route just 20 mins from the Tré la Tête hut
Approach # 20 mins
From the Tré la Tête refuge follow the Conscrits hut path for about 5 mins to a signpost. Turn right here, following a very faint path which descends towards an EDF dam, with a footbridge. Orange paint marks, (beware of vipers). About 100m before the dam, there is green cable on the rocks on the left. Follow this and then across broken ground until just beyond the vertical line of the dam. The first bolt is on an easy angled slab of rock just below two more bolts at the start of an obvious slab line leads up from right to left to the top of the cliff.
Route
L# | 4c |50m | Climb the slabs with some bulges. It is possible to split this pitch. L# | 4b |30m | There is a traverse left at the top of the pitch to belay in a corner. L# | 4a |30m | Continue up the slabs, crossing an easy escape on the right. L# | 3c |20m | Chain belay on the top.
Descent
Though possible to abseil, the path back to the hut is less than 100m away. Once on the path it is less than 10 mins back to the refuge.
The grades might seem a bit stiff if you are climbing with a sac. Photo topo of the route in the hut. “Colette and Ness” are the names of the couple that used to run the Tré la Tête refuge
