Après avoir passé le Bistibach, monter au mieux en direction de Bististafel (1900 m). Puis après avoir passé Hirscher Hitte, rejoindre le col en ascendance vers le NE.
Actuellement un très grand poteau en bois, visible de loin, indique le col
