Étymologie
L’origine du nom « Toûno » n’a plus guère de secrets pour les toponymistes. Orthographié « Tounot » ou « Tono » au 13e siècle, il s’agirait d’un oronyme (nom propre attribué à un accident du relief, comme une montagne) qui serait ici un hypocoristique (forme familière et affective d’un nom) du prénom Antoine.
