Ascent
3 possible ways:

Fadensteig See description] Fastest, skis must be carried in the steep/rocky part, can be icy (bring Crampons)

Fadenweg and Wurzengraben See description] No need to take the skis off, never very steep, but longer.

Up through the Breite Reis See Descent, but other way around…

Descent
From Kaiserstein, head N on the plateau, the first couloir straight to the right (E) is the Privatries (up to 45°), the start of Breite Reis is about 150m further on the plateau (Wooden poles indicate it). The start is heading SE at around 36°, then it gets wider, turns E and less steep at around 33° for about 400m. Around 1300m, head to the left side (N) at the start of the woods, where there is a signpost. Head down E following the summer path for about 200m, and join the forest road going N to Losenheim, just above the start of the chairlift Breite means “wide” in German Very popular in the late winter / early spring, but as it is wide in the lower part, there’s lots of room.

Camptocamp

camptocamp

Highest mountain in Lower Austria, and easternmost 2000m of the Alps

Schneeberg

From Losenheim, go up the path to Edelweisshuette (1200m, at the top of the chairlift), and follow the ridge up to the summit. It’s a bit in the forest for a bit, then rocky and through scree from 1400m to 1700m. Some chains to help in a few parts. The summit plateau is from ~1700m to the end and not very steep. Safe when dry, but can be very slippery when wet, and much trickier whith snow and ice. Losenheim -> Edelweisshuette ~1h Edelweisshuette -> Kaiserstein (Fischerhuette) ~2h

Fadensteig

Le Schneeberg, comme beaucoup de montagnes dans la région, est formée d’un large plateau sommital, entouré de pentes raides. Accessible par un train de montagne jusqu’à 1780 m.

From Puchberg am Schneeberg, go to Schneebergdörfl and then to Schwabenhof where the paved road ends (774m). Take the unpaved forest road towards the E, for about a km, where the fields on the left end. (~880m) Walk up the path through the forest to point 1180m (direction Schneidegraben), or cycle along the forest road to the same point. From there, go up the scree to 1337m where the scree crosses a horizontal path (signpost). Take it toward the NW (direction Bürklehütte) for about 500m until your reach a viewpoint. This is where the Novembergrat really starts. Follow the faint red circles along the ridge to the SW, and go up the ridge to the summital plateau at 1800m. From there, either go for a beer at the nearby Damböckhütte, or go to the summit of Schneeberg 1.5 km away, along a wide and flatish road full of tourists who came up with the train… Down: either the same way, down the scree of the Schneidergraben (very fast if you have good shoes and knees), or via the Herminenstieg (similar terrain to the Novembergrat, which starts just below the cross of the Waxriegel behind the hut).
