Access by the roadside coming from Servoz (1 km) towards Chamonix by « plaine Saint-Jean ».

Perfect sandstone crag for beginners, a lot of easy routes and straightforward climbing (big and horizontal holds). There are harder athletic pitches on the upper part of the crag. With a long rope, it's possible to climb to the top and lower back to the ground, if you don't clip every bolt in the bottom part to reduce rope drag (12 to 15 quickdraws).

<h2>Pedestrian access</h2> <p>Parking at the Bar de La Faune. You only have to cross the road!</p> <h2>Details</h2> <p>The Servoz site is particularly good for beginners. Flat, gravel area at the bottom, (like Les Gaillands), large boulders at the foot of the routes to secure the belayer, picnic tables for when the sun shines&#8230; The routes often gives moves that alternate between friction and good jugs. Lots of intermediary belays for rope manoeuvre practice.</p> <h2>Means of descent</h2> <p>Top roping. For the longer routes a 2×50&#160;m should suffice. It is possible to descend on foot.</p> <h2>Remarks</h2> <p>Faces West. Does not get the sun until the afternoon in Winter.</p>

<p>Situé à 1945&#160;m d’altitude, le lac de Pormenaz offre un panorama exceptionnel sur la Pointe Noire de Pormenaz, la Tête de Moëde, les Rochers des Fiz et la Pointe d’Anterne.</p> <p>Le lac est situé sur la Réserve Naturelle de Passy. Les landes entourant le Lac de Pormenaz constituent un habitat privilégié pour le tétras-lyre (ou petit tétras). Également appelé coq des bouleaux, il est un cousin proche du grand tétras, le coq de bruyère.</p> <p>Étant situé dans la réserve, les chiens, la cueillette, le camping sont interdits. <p>On regroupe dans ce massif le chaînon des Dents du Midi (partie la plus septentrionale), le massif du Haut-Giffre, de Sixt et de Faucigny (ce dernier incluant la chaîne des Fiz), ainsi que les Aiguilles Rouges, séparées du massif du Mont-Blanc par l&#8217;Arve.</p>
