Itinerario largo y complicado pero sin mucha dificultad. La vía se recorre sobre todo al bajar después de recorrer la arista S o más vías de la cara W. La bajada es una travesía sin fin a la izquierda bajo la arista en terreno delicado y expuesto pero no tan difícil.

Desde la reseña hubo desrumbamientos, el principio de la bajada está bien hitada y los rápeles de la primera parte con parabolts. el segundo tramo, desde cuando llegamos al filo de la arista E, es mas salvaje.

## Descripción sentido subida
Remontar las pendientes encima del refugio Borelli, hasta el nivel superior del nevero bajo la pequeña cara W de la arista E de la Noire (gendarme cuadrado en la arista que se ve bien). 
Atravesar el nevero a por el corredor de nieve y escalar la roca vertical que bordea a la  derecha (una decena de metros 3+ en salida). 
pues remontar siguiendo un « sendero » vertical (mixto hierba - bloque), cruzamos una reunión de rápel y un pitón.
Seguir luego atravesar horizontalmente las pendientes herbosas siguiendo una senda sobre 150 m más o menos, luego remontar una pendiente (entre 2 pequeñas paredes de roca) que se endereze y llega a una brecha cuadrada.
Remontar en la garganta (nieve al principio) y seguir (la garganta se ensancha) a por el gendarme cuadrado, que dejamos a la derecha para llegar a la arista.
Seguir en la arista siguiendo los hitos. Cuando topamos en una pared infranqueable, sorteamos a la izquierda (S) siguiendo una cornisa horizontal.
Remontar a la derecha ladeando la pared (pasos de 3). Una cuerda de nudos ayuda a pasar un ángulo delicado. Llegamos a placas (cubiertas por tarteras) que trepamos zigzagueando a lo más fácil.
Pues la escalada es más segura y llega a la arista que seguimos (hitos) hasta la cumbre.

## Descripción sentido de la bajada
Desde la cumbre, bajar vertiente S más o menos el centro por gradas y chimeneas sobre más o menos 150 m. seguir la bajada hacia la izquierda hacia una cota rocosa poco marcada que baja de la primera loma de la arista (sitio de vivac). Bajar esta cota hacia la derecha  por cornisas luego volver a la izquierda al pie de la loma de la arista. Cuidado a no enfilar demasiado a la derecha en corredores alejados de la arista que llevan encima de la inmensa acantilado de la cara S.

Seguir la bajada a la izquierda por rocas quebradizas y cornisas. Pasar un tramo vertical por 2 rápeles (25 m, 35 m pero posible con 25 m) para llegar a un pequeño espolón con bloques grandes. Atravesar el espolón hacia la izquierda y seguir siempre bajando a la izquierda por cornisas, espolones y corredores más o menos verticales. Alcanzar y bajar el corredor que ladea el gendarme 3374 m. en su base, atravesar a la izquierda para llegar a la arista remontando de algún metro.

Bajar la arista hasta 2 gendarmes pegados (3291 m) ; 20 m antes de los gendarmes, dejar la arista y bajar vertiente S por una chimenea para llegar a una ancha cornisa que presenta buenos sitios de vivac. Sortear el primer gendarme vertiente S, llegar al final y sortear el 2<sup>o</sup> gendarme vertiente Brenva. Volver al filo y pasar vertiente S.

Seguir la bajada por corredores y travesías a la izquierda sobre varios centenares de metros, pasar una brecha (hitos). tenemos un grande gendarme cuadrado detrás de nosotros.

Desde entonces 2 alternativas :

- hitos y rápeles indican la dirección de una ancha y profunda garganta a la izquierda. Esta garganta está más o menos equipada con rápeles (10-12 rápeles de 50 m) y permite bajar bastante bajo pero obliga pues a una larga travesía hacia la derecha para llegar al itinerario normal.
- el itinerario clásico permite pasar sin rapelar quiza sea más rápida. Con el grande gendarme cuadrado detrás de nosotros y la ancha garganta a la izquierda, seguir un « espolón » hasta una brecha dónde se cambia en arista. Bajar a la derecha en un fondo herboso /terroso vertical. Cuando la inclinacion aumenta demasiado, atravesar hacia la derecha para llegar a un estrecho/garganta expuesta a las caídas de piedras. Bajarlo sobre 100 m (algún resalte vertical) y salir a la izquierda por una loma que llega a pendientes herbosas. bajar 50 m en estas pendientes y volver a la derecha para atravesar otra vez el corredor (no bajar sobre 100 m tal como dicen en la reseña Vallot, las pendientes herbosas llegan a barras rocosas 100-150 m encima de la tartera. Muchos anillas de rápel más o menos indican que muchas cordadas salieron aqui). Llegar a pendientes herbosas a la derecha, seguir a la derecha por una « senda » (expuesta) sobre 300 m en dirección del inicio de la arista S de la Noire. Después de dejar las pendientes herbosas y llegar a la roca antes de las grandes placas, bajar hacia la izquierda y destrepar sobre 30 m (III, 1-2 pitones) para llegar a la cumbre de la morrena del nevero de Combalet.

Horario de la reseña Vallot - 2h30 a 4h de la cumbre al refugio – no es realista para una cordada de nivel mediano que no conoce el itinerario. Contar 4-5h para un cordada acostumbrada en terreno variado. La presencia de nieve en corredores podría permitir llegar más pronto. Hay muchos hitos, pero cuidado no simepre son buenos. Lo complejo del itinerario complicara una bajada de noche con frontal.
Muchos sitios de vivac más o menos cómodos fueron arreglados por cordadas sorprendidas por la noche. Pero los últimos buenos vivaques en la bajada están poco antes de los 2 gendarmes pegados.

Aiguille Noire de Peuterey

## Approach ~ 1h

From the Borreli hut (2316m), go W to the foot of the pointe Gamba (at 2675m) by climbing up a grassy dome via the moraine and then diagonally up a scree slope (faint path and a cairn). The start is 20m to the left of a chimney/gully separating the Pointe Gamba from the Pointe Bifide (commemorative plaque). An old fixed rope is in place.

## Route

**Pointes Gamba - Bifides 3069m**

Climb the grassy rocks going slightly leftwards (3c, 60m) to reach a steep black slab to the right of a small shelf. Go to the right on the slab (4c, 1 peg) and continue, rising to the left, for 60m to gain some grassy cracks. Climb these cracks and traverse to the right above a large white triangular slab, visible from the hut. Gain the gully coming down from the gap to the north of the pointe Gamba.

Climb this easy gully separating the Pointes Gamba and Bifide. After about 60m when the gully forks (Y shaped) go obliquely right, pass a shoulder and traverse horizontally to reach the foot of the Pointes Bifides. Climb straight up some steps (40m), then climb a flared gully going slightly diagonally left. (3c, 50m). Go obliquely left for 30m on a sloping slab and return easily to the ridge on the right.

Follow this ridge until the foot of an easy angled buttress. Climb the corner to the left (4c, pegs). Go onto the E face for a short time to overcome some steep slabs (4c). A last wall of 4c leads along the ridge. The 3 belays for these pitches are equipped. Follow the ridge and force a short, slanting step (5c or a short ladder). By a slab on the right (4c) reach the first Pointe Bifide. Climb down to the gap between the Pointes Bifides then several metres more on the E face and traverse to the second Pointe Bifide.

**Pointe Welzenbach 3355m**

Take the easiest line along the ridge and bypass by climbing down to the E the next pinnacle (altogether 3c, 4b airy). Continue along the ridge until a bolt belay. Rising slightly, continue to the right on the S face of the Pointe Welzenbach (40m, 3c, a few pegs). At the level of a terrace do not climb a slab on the right but climb a steep wall directly above the ledge (4c, 10m, Welzenbach slab). Continue up the flared corner (3c, 4b, 60m) until the ridge. Briefly follow the ridge then before the summit of the Pointe Welzenbach, climb down on the right, (looking downwards) to reach a belay on the E face. Abseil 25/30m to reach the next gap, (possible with 25m, more comfortable with 30m). 3-4h Place for a bivouac at this gap.

**Pointe Brendel 3497m**

Start the climb of the Pointe Brendel by its right flank (30m). Come back to the crest of the ridge by an easy angled slab clearly visible from the abseil from the Welzenbach (3c, 30m). Reach a zone of little ledges on the W face 10m below an obvious gap. Climb the “half-moon“ shaped buttress by a steep wall with cracks. Climb firstly to the left then slightly obliquely to the right (4c, some pegs, 40m). By the ridge, reach the foot of a steep step under the Pointe Brendel. Climb down the W face a few metres and then climb back up in the direction of a steep, black corner some metres to the left of the crest of the ridge. Climb the corner (4c), then the slab which follows (5b, 3 cemented pegs), and traverse to the left under some overhangs (40m). Overcome a few metres still steep and gain by an easy section the summit of the Pointe Brendel to the left. Good places for a bivouac.

*Alternatively from the gap: Climb directly up a steep step several metres to the left of the crest of the ridge by a crack (5+, lots of pegs) or avoid this step by passing under the W flank to rejoin some steps/ledges. For the "half moon," start 10m under a little gap and climb a corner with cracks (4, 5). Gain a little sloping platform (5, numerous pegs) and continue by climbing to the left, coming back slightly to the right and then taking the easiest line to the ridge which allows one to climb without difficulty on the left to the summit of the Pointe Brendel.*

From the summit of the Pointe Brendel, abseil 25m to reach the ridge. Bypass a large pinnacle on the left (beware of the large, balanced block,) and climb a red chimney to reach a little gap at the foot of the Pointe Ottoz.

**Pointe Ottoz 3586m**

Climb the chimney which separates the pinnacle and the Pointe Ottoz. By a long stride, reach the very steep buttress of the Pointe Ottoz. Climb to the left (5a steep) to reach a 35m corner (hanging belay on pegs). Climb the corner, (5, lots of pegs). Exit to the right by a 5m traverse under some small overhangs, the feet on some slabs. (5c, lots of pegs), regain the ridge and follow it to the summit of the Pointe Ottoz.

*Alternative from the gap: Climb the steep wall above the gap, firstly trending slightly leftwards then trending slightly rightwards (5c, 35m, pegs). Belay on a little step. Climb the wall above the belay. One can go to the right (5c, 20m) but to the left is less committing. Belay on a little shelf to the left. Several short steps separated by ledges leads to two good bivouac sites. Bypass the summit of Pointe Ottoz by some cracks on the E face, 30m.*

Follow the ridge and descend to the gap before the Pointe Bich (30m).

**Pointe Bich 3753m**

Follow the ridge passing several "rock teeth" (4c, 60m) to reach the foot of a steeper buttress. Start climbing to the right of the crest by some cracked slabs and little overhangs, slanting up slightly to the right (5c, numerous pegs, 30m). Continue obliquely rightwards in a corner (4c, 20m). Come back to ridge on the left by a sloping slab. Follow the ridge, 30m, until a section of ledges. – 2 good bivouac sites. Climb the cracked slab in the middle of the spur (4b, 30m). Traverse rightwards in an area of large boulders to reach a loose gully. Climb up this gully to the crest of the ridge on the left. Traverse 10m to the right, climb a chimney, (3m of 3c) to regain the ridge which you follow (2m of 4) until the summit of the Pointe Bich.

From the Pointe Bich, descend to the next gap by a first abseil of 30m to reach a little terrace, then a second abseil of 20m or steep down climbing (5m) followed by a damp earthy/snow gully of 10/15m.

**Aiguille Noire de Peuterey 3772m**

Traverse to the left an area of large flat stones to reach some unstable gullies and continue easily (walking) to the summit of the Noire de Peuterey (80m). 5-7h Two bivouac places just under the summit.

<p>[toc 2 right] <em>Le massif du Mont-Blanc est un massif montagneux des Alpes franco-italiennes, où se dresse le mont Blanc, plus haut sommet d&#8217;Europe occidentale qui culmine à 4&#160;810,06&#160;m. Il est traversé par le tunnel du Mont-Blanc, entre Chamonix dans la vallée de l&#8217;Arve et Courmayeur dans la vallée d&#8217;Aoste.</em></p> <h2>Présentation</h2> <h3>Situation</h3> <p>Ce massif est relativement restreint en superficie puisqu&#8217;il s&#8217;étend sur seulement 400&#160;km[sup]2[/sup] environ, mais il empiète sur trois pays&#160;: il est situé en grande partie sur le département français de la Haute-Savoie, mais aussi de la Savoie, sur la Vallée d&#8217;Aoste italienne et le canton du Valais suisse.</p> <p>Il est très homogène, c&#8217;est-à-dire que peu de vallées entrecoupent le relief, si ce n&#8217;est le Val Veny en amont de Courmayeur, côté italien, qui isole quelque peu le sommet de Lancebranlette. En effet, les glaciers occupent les dépressions jusque bas dans les vallées, et les torrents qu&#8217;ils alimentent ne suffisent pas à éroder le massif.</p> <p>On peut diviser le massif en plusieurs zones&#160;:</p> <ul> <li>les dômes de Miage]] et [[summits/176147|Tré-la-Tête&#160;;</li> <li>le groupe central, qui comprend le sommet du mont Blanc lui-même&#160;;</li> <li>l&#8217;aiguille Verte]], les [[summits/38628|Droites&#160;;</li> <li>les aiguilles de Chamonix, depuis l&#8217;aiguille du Midi jusqu&#8217;à l&#8217;aiguille des Grands Charmoz&#160;;</li> <li>les Grandes Jorasses&#160;;</li> <li>le groupe de l&#8217;aiguille d&#8217;Argentière.</li> </ul> <p>Les vallées principales qui l&#8217;entourent sont reliées par le tunnel du mont Blanc et le col du Petit-Saint-Bernard (entre l&#8217;Italie et la France) et le col des Montets via Vallorcine (entre la France et la Suisse).</p> <p>Il est entouré des aiguilles Rouges]] au nord-ouest (rive droite de l&#8217;Arve), du massif du [[areas/14404|Giffre]] au nord, des [[areas/14437|Alpes valaisannes]] à l&#8217;est, des [[areas/14424|Alpes grées]] au sud-est et du massif du [[areas/14400|Beaufortain au sud-ouest.</p> <h3>Géologie</h3> <p>Le massif du Mont-Blanc fait partie des massifs cristallins externes des Alpes. Il est essentiellement granitique, mais l&#8217;on y trouve également des affleurement de gneiss, selon cette répartition&#160;: - le cœur du massif (vallée Blanche) et l&#8217;est (glacier du Tour, glacier du Trient) sont dans le pluton granitique - la partie occidentale (sommet du mont Blanc lui-même, dôme du Goûter, le secteur de Tré-la-Tête) est constituée principalement de gneiss. Ce sont en fait d&#8217;anciennes roches hercyniennes reprises dans l&#8217;orogenèse alpine.</p> <h2>Le Massif</h2> <h3>Les différents Groupes</h3> <h4>Les dômes de Miage et Tré-la-Tête</h4> <p>Secteur plus sauvage, il abrite de belles courses d&#8217;arête&#160;: traversée des Dômes de Miage]] et [[routes/57924|traversée Tré la Tête - Dôme des Glaciers.</p> <h4>Groupe central&#160;: Mont Blanc</h4> <p>Partie du massif très courue, son accès est grandement facilité par le téléphérique de l&#8217;aiguille du Midi. En été, le col du Midi est le lieu de rencontre de tout les types d&#8217;alpinisme. C&#8217;est le lieu où se côtoie alpinisme difficile (Grand Pilier d&#8217;Angle]], Freney&#8230;) et facile ([[summits/37355/fr/mont-blanc#les-5-voies-normales|voie normale du Mon Blanc]], [[summits/39351|Pointe Lachenal]] et [[routes/53884|Arête des Cosmiques.</p> <h4>L&#8217;aiguille Verte, les Courtes</h4> <p>L&#8217;Aiguille Verte tient une place importante dans le massif tant elle attire l&#8217;œil depuis la vallée. Elle regorge de couloirs et arêtes réputées. Plus au Nord, ce sont les Droites et les Courtes dont la réputation des faces N n&#8217;est plus à faire. Leur face S accueille quant&#8217;à elle des itinéraires d&#8217;alpinisme plus classique.</p> <h4>Les aiguilles de Chamonix</h4> <p>Ce groupe de sommet va de l&#8217;aiguille du Midi jusqu&#8217;à l&#8217;aiguille des Grands Charmoz. C&#8217;est un endroit propice à de belles escalades modernes et anciennes.</p> <h4>Les Grandes Jorasses</h4> <p>Si on doit citer une face N du massif du Mont Blanc, ce sera celle-là. Une des plus réputée des Alpes.</p> <h4>L&#8217;aiguille d&#8217;Argentière et du Chardonnet</h4> <p>L&#8217;aiguille d&#8217;Argentière, tout comme celle du Chardonnet sont des petits massifs à eux tout seul&#160;; ils concentrent tout ce qu&#8217;on peut trouver en montagne&#160;: goulottes et courses glacières en versant N, traversée d&#8217;arête, escalade et ski de montagne. Assurément un beau coin.</p> <h2>Les activités de montagne</h2> <h3>Ski de randonnée</h3> <p>Le Mont-Blanc, de part sa grande surface glaciaire comporte plus d&#8217;itinéraires sérieux que n&#8217;importe quel autre massif français. C&#8217;est également un excellent massif pour la pente raide. En effet, les nombreuses remontés mécaniques permettent d&#8217;accéder facilement à de belles pentes.</p> <h3>Alpinisme</h3> <p>Chamonix est la Mecque mondialement connue de l&#8217;alpinisme.</p> <h4>Neige/Glace/Mixte</h4> <h5>Alpinisme classique</h5> <ul> <li>Mont blanc</li> </ul> <h5>Goulottes</h5> <p>Le massif du Mont-Blanc propose de nombreuses goulottes dont les principaux sommets sont&#160;:</p> <ul> <li>Aiguille du Chardonnet&#160;: belles goulottes de difficultés modérées</li> <li>Aiguille du Midi&#160;: goulottes variées facilement accessibles grâce au téléphérique</li> <li>Grandes Jorasses&#160;: goulottes engagées dans une face de légende</li> <li>Mont Blanc du Tacul&#160;: goulottes faciles d&#8217;accès mais fréquentés</li> <li>Triangle du Tacul&#160;: goulottes &#8220;école&#8221;</li> </ul> <h4>Rocher haute montagne</h4> <p>Le granite Chamoniard n&#8217;est plus a présenté et on peut citer quelques haut lieu de l&#8217;escalade Chamoniarde&#160;:</p> <ul> <li>Envers des Aiguilles</li> <li>Grand Capucin</li> </ul> <p>Malheureusement, le massif pâti de l&#8217;absence d&#8217;une mise à jour d&#8217;un topo rocheux exhaustif. On pourra trouver de nombreuses information à la maison de la montagne à Chamonix.</p> <h3>La cascade de glace</h3> <ul> <li>Cascades du glacier d&#8217;Argentière</li> <li>Cascades de Trient</li> </ul> <h3>La randonnée pédestre</h3> <p>Le massif du Mont-Blanc est avant tout un massif réservé à l&#8217;alpinisme.
