
Koča na Doliču (Tržaška koča)

The Dolič is at alt. 2151m on the pass of the same name, SW of Triglav. It was built by the Italians in 1930, renovated in 1948, destroyed by an avalanche in 1951 and moved in 1952 to 1953. It was then renamed Tržaška koča ( “Trieste mountain hut”). It was signifcantly destroyed by an avalanche in the winter of 2008-2009; the mountain hut was since reopened, with 80 beds instead of 144 before the avalanche. On maps, the Koča na Doliču mountain hut often appears under the name of “Tržaška koča na Doliču”.
On signs and inscriptions, the mountain hut is signposted Dolič, Koča na Doliču, Tržaška koča, or Tržaška koča na Doliču.
